# Custom Domain

You can add a custom domain to your status page on the **Pro** and **Enterprise** plans.

    You can use a root domain like `acmestatus.com`, but your DNS provider must support CNAME flattening — BetterStatus doesn't issue A or AAAA records. [Learn about CNAME flattening](https://developers.cloudflare.com/dns/cname-flattening/)

### Adding a custom domain

1. Go to **Status Pages** → **Domains**.
2. Click **Add custom domain**.
3. Enter your domain. We recommend `status.yourdomain.com`.
4. Click **Add domain**.
5. If your DNS provider supports auto-configuration, click **Auto-Configure** and follow the prompts.
6. Otherwise, copy the CNAME record and add it manually in your DNS provider.
7. Click **Verify** to check the record. DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate.
8. You're done!
